How is the Eau de Toilette different from the other Chance flankers?

They are genuinely different scents, not just strengths. This original 2002 Eau de Toilette is the chypre-floral one, with a pink-pepper and jasmine heart over patchouli and vetiver. The Eau Tendre is softer and more floral-fruity, the Eau Fraiche is a cooler citrus-vetiver take, and the Eau Vive is more citrus-forward. So the version name changes the character, not just the intensity.

What is the pineapple note doing in the opening?

It adds a juicy, slightly tart lift to the top alongside pink pepper and hyacinth. That touch of fruit is part of what gives Chance its bright, whirling opening before the jasmine-and-patchouli heart settles in, and it helps distinguish the original from the softer or fresher flankers.

Chance Eau de Toilette opens with spiced pineapple and pink pepper, a fruity, citrus-tinged start. Lemon and jasmine brighten the heart before rose and patchouli settle the dry-down into something earthy and soft.

It works for a casual day running errands in Dhaka’s heat or a low-key office day. With longevity and sillage both around a 3, expect a moderate performance that stays close to the skin.

Chance is for her, playful rather than heavy. AUROME sells it as a 2–15 ml decant filled from the original Chanel bottle, enough to wear it across a few days before deciding on a full bottle.
