How is Sillage different from the famous Club de Nuit Intense?

They are almost opposites within the same line. Club de Nuit Intense Man is the smoky heavyweight, built on lemon, pineapple and blackcurrant over birch, ambergris and patchouli. Sillage is a light, clean citrus-iris-musk closer to Silver Mountain Water territory, with bergamot, lime and violet leaf over rose and iris and an ambroxan-musk base. So if you already know CDN Intense, do not expect the same weight here; Sillage is the airy, daytime member of the family.

Does it work in Dhaka heat?

It is one of the better hot-weather options in the line. The bergamot, lemon and lime go fast in high heat, as citrus always does, but what replaces them is iris and clean musk rather than anything sweet, so the fragrance thins out instead of thickening through the afternoon. Ginger and violet leaf keep a green sharpness in the first half hour that humidity does not blunt. Ambroxan warms slightly later on and gives the last hours a faintly salty edge.

This Armaf eau de parfum (EDP) opens with a citrus rush of bergamot and lime sharpened by blackcurrant, before rose, jasmine and iris take over as a powdery floral heart, and musky sandalwood and cedar settle underneath by the dry-down. The fresh spicy top keeps it aromatic rather than sweet, which makes it easy to wear unisex, from an air-conditioned office through to an evening date. Expect it to project well and last for hours, so it earns its name.
