How does it compare with Hawas Elixir?

Fresh against gourmand. Hawas is the aquatic: apple, bergamot and lemon with a touch of cinnamon into watery notes, plum and cardamom, over ambergris, musk and driftwood. Hawas Elixir drops all of that for mint, bergamot and artemisia into dark chocolate, lavender and benzoin over vanilla and tonka. The name is the only real connection between them, so buying one because you liked the other is the mistake to avoid.

Is it a genuine Dhaka daily wear?

It is one of the better ones, and the driftwood base is the reason. Apple and citrus thin quickly in high heat as always, but the watery notes in the heart read cooler against hot skin than they do in winter, and cardamom keeps a dry spice edge running underneath. Ambergris, musk and driftwood are all light, salty materials that stay close without gaining weight. Nothing in this formula sweetens through a humid afternoon.

Hawas opens with crisp apple and lemon over bergamot, cinnamon giving the citrus top a warm spicy edge. Plum and orange blossom fill out an aquatic, fresh heart as this eau de parfum (EDP) develops.

The dry-down turns animalic, with ambergris, musk and patchouli settling into something deeper than the bright opening suggests. Expect it to last well and project with confidence through a long day.

For him, it suits a hot summer commute or a casual office day where the AC tames the sillage. AUROME sells it as a 5–15 ml decant filled from the original Rasasi bottle, so you can wear it for a week before deciding on a full bottle.
