How does it compare with Chocolate Makes Me Happy?

Coffee against cocoa. Chocolate Makes Me Happy is the darker and more complicated of the two, with cacao pod and dark chocolate up top and a spice-and-resin heart of ginger, cinnamon, labdanum and olibanum. Hidden Accords is simpler and softer: pear and orange blossom into coffee and jasmine over vanilla, patchouli and cedar. The chocolate one is the statement; this is the comfortable one.

How does the coffee-and-pear pairing behave in Dhaka heat?

The coffee holds and the pear does not. Roasted coffee stays dry and bitter on warm skin rather than sweetening, which is why coffee notes survive this climate better than most gourmand materials, and the jasmine beside it gets fuller in humidity. Pear is the casualty, thinning within the first half hour so the luminous fruit opening is brief. Vanilla and patchouli underneath then warm through the afternoon, making the second half richer than the first.

Pear, orange blossom and pink pepper open Hidden Accords with a soft, spiced fruity start, before coffee and jasmine deepen the heart.

Vanilla, patchouli and cedar close the extrait de parfum in a sweet, woody dry-down, well suited to a date or a party once the evening cools down in Dhaka. Longevity is rated 5 and sillage 4 out of 5, so expect it to last long and project generously into the night.
