Fig leaf, mint and bergamot open Ombre Noir on a green, aromatic note that quickly gives way to smoldering tobacco and cinnamon at the heart.
Cognac, myrrh, olibanum, cedar and tonka build a dense, warm spicy amber base, the part of the fragrance Lalique clearly designed for. Longevity and sillage are both rated 4 out of 5, so expect this to last and project through a full evening out.
Its tobacco and amber character suits a winter wedding or a late dinner in Dhaka rather than a daytime errand. Karine Dubreuil-Sereni’s 2017 composition for him comes as a 5–15 ml decant filled from the original bottle, enough to wear for a week before deciding.
