What does Dior Homme Intense smell like?

A deep, powdery iris scent. Lavender opens it, a heart of iris, ambrette and pear gives it a smooth, makeup-like powderiness, and a base of cedar and vetiver keeps it woody. So it reads as an elegant, slightly formal iris rather than a fresh or sweet scent. It is a 2011 release by Francois Demachy.

How is Homme Intense different from Dior Homme?

It is richer and more iris-heavy. The standard Dior Homme is lighter and more citrus-woody, while the Intense deepens the iris into a fuller, more powdery and refined composition. So the Intense is the dressier, more serious of the two.

Has Dior Homme Intense been reformulated?

Yes, more than once. This 2011 version itself reworked an earlier 2007 release, and wearers report further small changes since, with older bottles often called richer. So an old and a current bottle smell clearly related but not identical.

Lavender opens Homme Intense on its own, a single herbal note that gives way to iris, ambrette and pear at the heart.

Cedar, vetiver and violet close the eau de parfum (EDP) in an earthy, powdery dry-down, well suited to an office day, a date, a wedding or an evening out during the cooler months. Longevity and sillage both sit at 4 out of 5, so expect it to last well and project with quiet confidence.

It’s built for him, powdery and refined rather than loud. As a 3–9 ml decant drawn from the original Dior bottle, it is an easy way to live with the scent before committing to a full size.
