Why does the iris in Iris Malikhan smell warm instead of powdery?

Because Marc Zini frames it as a balmy, ambery iris rather than the usual cold, powdery one. Vanilla and amber warm it from below while green galbanum, cypress and pink pepper keep the top aromatic, so it reads as a warm, slightly gourmand iris with a leathery edge.

What is the most unusual note in it?

Lentisque, also called mastic, a Mediterranean resin rarely used in mainstream perfumery. Alongside leather, cinnamon and blackcurrant in the heart, it gives Iris Malikhan a wild, resinous character that sets it apart from the typical clean iris soliflore.

Galbanum and cypress open this Maison Crivelli eau de parfum (EDP) with a green, herbal edge, before orris and mimosa warm the heart, settling into a powdery leather, amber and vanilla base.

Composed by Marc Zini, it is unisex and formal enough for a winter wedding season here (Nov–Feb) or a considered evening out once the cooler months arrive. Expect long-lasting, well-projecting wear, so a light hand is enough.
