Both build citrus over a mossy woody base and land in different centuries. Cedrat Boise is modern and smooth: Sicilian lemon and black currant into patchouli and water jasmine over cedar, leather and vanilla. Izmir opens on pineapple rather than lemon and puts iris, rose and cloves through the heart, then finishes on oakmoss, patchouli, sandalwood and tonka. Cedrat Boise is the sleeker one; Izmir has a classical, almost chypre-like structure underneath the fruit.

It stays juicy rather than turning candied, which is the useful part. Pineapple is a full, ripe note here and the bergamot and lemon around it keep it vibrant on warm skin instead of letting it go syrupy. The cloves in the heart get sharper in heat, which helps further. What gains weight is the oakmoss and patchouli base, so the second half is earthier and heavier in a Dhaka summer than the bright opening suggests.
