Stronger With You Intensely runs pink pepper and juniper into lavender, sage, toffee and cinnamon over suede, amber and vanilla, and the toffee is what defines it. Kajal Homme opens brighter, with mandarin, pink grapefruit and cassis, then uses cardamom and guaiac wood through the heart and adds oud alongside the vanilla and sandalwood in the base. The Armani is the gourmand; this is the cleaner, woodier reading.

Not for long, but it does its job first. Mandarin and pink grapefruit are sharp enough to read as genuinely cutting in the first ten minutes on hot skin, and the cassis underneath adds a dark edge that stops them going sporty. All three thin quickly in humidity. What follows is cardamom over cashmeran and vanilla, and that middle gets sweeter here than in cool air, with the oud and sandalwood arriving to dry it out only late.
