Is this the original Le De Givenchy or the reissue?

This is the 1957 original, one of Givenchy's earliest fragrances, famously associated with Bette Davis. There is also a 2007 Les Parfums Mythiques reissue, so the notes and character described here refer to the vintage composition rather than the later reissue.

What does it smell like?

A classic aldehyde-era floral. Michel Hy opens it with tarragon, coriander and bergamot over a big lily-of-the-valley, jasmine and orris heart, grounded in oakmoss, sandalwood and amber. So it is an old-school, green-mossy floral rather than anything sweet or modern.

Tarragon and coriander open crisp on Le De Givenchy, a floral, woody eau de toilette (EDT) for her, with mandarin and bergamot adding citrus lift.

Lily of the valley, lilac, orris, jasmine and ylang ylang build a white floral heart, before oakmoss, musk, guaiac wood, sandalwood and amber settle into a fresh, powdery base. Longevity and sillage both sit at 4 out of 5, so expect it to hold up through a full day in an air-conditioned Dhaka office.
