How is Nude Velvet different from the original Irresistible?

It is the powdery, iris-forward version. Where the original Irresistible opens on pear, Nude Velvet swaps in an almond-milk and neroli opening and adds a rice-powder accord to the base, giving it a soft, cosy, skin-like feel. Same rose-and-iris heart, softer treatment.

What does the rice powder accord do?

It gives the drydown a powdery, rice-soft texture the original does not have. Combined with almond and iris, it makes Nude Velvet read as a comforting, second-skin scent rather than a bright fruity-floral.

Irresistible Nude Velvet opens on neroli before iris and rose take over the heart, then almond, cedar and musk close things out on a soft, powdery, musky base.

It works equally well at the office in air-conditioning or on an evening date in the cooler months, a floral for her that never feels loud.

Expect it to last well on skin even though its sillage stays fairly moderate, more a personal scent than a room-filler. It comes as a 2–15 ml decant, filled fresh from the original Givenchy bottle, so a first bottle purchase isn’t a guess.
