It aims at that lane and takes a different route through it. Stronger With You Parfum runs pink pepper and mandarin into lavender, cinnamon and sage over chestnut, vanilla and leather, and the chestnut is what makes it read sweet and almost edible. Titan keeps the pink pepper, citrus and lavender but trades the chestnut and cinnamon for incense and suede, so its middle is drier and faintly smoky before the amber-vanilla-tonka base arrives. If the gourmand sweetness of the Armani is the part you like, Titan gives you less of it.

Holding it back, and it is the most interesting decision in the formula. The amber, vanilla and tonka base is exactly what this genre always does, but incense and suede sitting above them give the middle of the wear a dry, faintly smoky spine that most fragrances in the lane do not have. That is what stops it reading as another cardamom-vanilla copy. It also means the sweetness arrives later than you expect it to.
