A damp forest floor in a bottle. Fennel, mint and green notes open it herbal, a heart of oakmoss, fern, angelica and galbanum builds a mossy green body, and a base of vetiver, pine needles, mushroom, soil tincture and chestnut makes it smell of wet earth and woods. So it reads as an earthy, mushroomy chypre unlike almost anything else.

Not really, and that is the point. Wearers and reviewers repeatedly call it one of a kind, with no mainstream fragrance offering the same wet-forest, boletus-and-humus effect. So it is bought as a singular experience rather than as an alternative to something else.

Because it is genuinely divisive. Some consider it a classic of the genre for its realistic forest-floor character, while others find the earthy, mossy accord reads closer to mothballs or a damp basement. It is very much a sample-before-you-buy scent.
