Zefiro remains part of Xerjoff's 1861 collection and is still sold new, so the year here simply tells you which production run this decant was drawn from rather than signalling that it is discontinued. On a resin-heavy composition like this one, where the elemi and incense do most of the work, collectors tend to want that detail stated rather than assumed.

They are the two ends of the 1861 collection. Naxos is the sweet one, honey and cinnamon over tobacco and vanilla with a bright lavender opening. Zefiro goes dry and ceremonial instead: elemi resin and white wine alongside the bergamot, then cardamom, cinnamon, carnation and iris, closing on incense, amber and a trace of honey. Naxos is the crowd-pleaser; Zefiro is the one that rewards patience.
