What does Guerlain Patchouli Ardent smell like?

A bright, peppery patchouli. Fig, pink pepper and black pepper open it spicy, a heart of patchouli, Turkish rose and cedar gives it a dark woody-floral body, and a base of leather and musk keeps it smooth. So it reads as an elegant, rosy patchouli rather than a raw or hippie one. It is a Guerlain niche release.

How does Patchouli Ardent compare to Frederic Malle The Noir 29?

They live in the same rich, slightly smoky patchouli-and-fig territory, which is why wearers cross-shop them, but The Noir 29 leans greener and more tea-like while Patchouli Ardent is peppery and rosier. So they are cousins rather than twins.

Leather and musk carry the dry-down, giving this eau de parfum (EDP) a warm spicy, slightly animalic depth shaped by Thierry Wasser. Expect it to last well and project with confidence, so it is worth going easy on the sprays.
