Is the current Guerlain Homme the same as the 2008 original, or has it changed?

There are two different scents to know. The 2008 original is the mojito-style lime, mint and rum vetiver these notes describe; a separate 2016 Eau de Parfum reworked the idea and dropped the mojito accord. So versions differ, and this description matches the original mint-lime-rum character rather than the later rework.

Does the lime-mint-rum opening actually work in heat?

It does. The cool mint, lime and rum accord is genuinely refreshing in warm weather and reads crisp and green rather than heavy, sitting over a dry vetiver base. It is one of the more heat-friendly designer scents, though the fresh top leads and the drydown stays close.

Is Guerlain Homme a versatile everyday scent?

Mint, lime and rum open Homme with a cool, boozy start, before floral notes soften the heart into something greener.

Vetiver, cedar and patchouli close the eau de parfum (EDP) in a woody, earthy dry-down, suited to a casual day, an office day or an evening out through summer and the cooler months. AUROME has no longevity or sillage figures on file for this one, so it is worth testing through a full day first.

It’s built for him, green and aromatic rather than sweet. As a 3–15 ml decant drawn from the original Guerlain bottle, it is an easy way to live with the scent before committing to a full size.
