Ombre Leather is the smoother and more floral of the two: cardamom into jasmine sambac and leather over patchouli, amber and moss, with the leather reading soft and suede-like. African Leather is drier and spikier. Geranium and pink pepper give it a green, almost herbal opening, cinnamon adds heat through the middle, and the oud sitting under the leather takes it somewhere rougher. Ombre Leather is the polished one; this smells like the material rather than the finished jacket.

It sharpens the spice before the leather has settled. Cardamom, pink pepper and cinnamon all lift faster on warm skin, so the opening runs hotter and more aggressive here than in cool air, and the geranium's minty green edge burns off early. The leather, oud and amber underneath are dry materials and they hold rather than turning sweet, so the second half stays stable. Give it an hour on skin before judging it in this weather.
