Despite the name it is more sweet amber than sharp oud: plum and grapefruit open it, heliotrope and orchid add a powdery floral middle, and a base of amber, vanilla, tonka, labdanum and a little agarwood makes it warm and gourmand. The oud is a background accent, not the star.

That is its whole selling point: it delivers a rich, sweet-amber experience at a Lattafa price, which is why it often comes up when people want an affordable warm amber. It is not a precise copy of any luxury scent, but it scratches the same cosy-amber itch.

It sits between the two. The heliotrope and orchid give it a soft, powdery quality, while the vanilla, tonka and amber pull it toward sweet gourmand warmth. How it reads depends on whether your skin plays up the powder or the sweetness.
