What actually changes between Asad and Asad Elixir?

They share a patchouli, tobacco and vanilla thread, so the family resemblance is real, but the supporting materials differ. Asad Elixir leans on drier, more resinous woods, while the original keeps the dark-roast coffee and the powdery iris that give it its shape. The coffee and iris centre is the part that belongs to this bottle rather than to the line as a whole.

A spiced oriental from Lattafa, this eau de parfum (EDP) opens with black pepper and tobacco, sharpened by pineapple, before patchouli, coffee and iris bring a rich, warm spicy heart. Vanilla, amber, benzoin and labdanum settle into a sweet, resinous base.

It suits a winter evening or a party night in Dhaka, where the tobacco and coffee have space to develop as the evening cools. Longevity and sillage both sit at 4 out of 5, so expect it to last well and project comfortably.

Available as a 9 & 15 ml decant from an original Lattafa bottle, an easy way to sample before buying full size. Built for him, it reads intense without being one-note.
