Legend is the crowd-pleaser and Explorer is the interesting one. Legend runs bergamot and violet leaves into jasmine and magnolia over oakmoss and leather, clean and deliberately safe. Explorer keeps a bergamot opening but adds sage and pink pepper, then vetiver and leather through the heart, and finishes on patchouli, cocoa, ambrofix and akigalawood. The cocoa is the surprise: it gives the base a dry, faintly bitter warmth Legend has nothing like.

Less than you would expect, because it is unsweetened. The cocoa here reads dry and dusty rather than edible, and warm skin brings it forward without turning it into dessert, since there is no vanilla or sugar in the formula to pull that way. Bergamot goes early as always. Vetiver, patchouli and akigalawood underneath all hold their shape in humidity, which makes this steadier through a hot day than most leather-woody masculines.
