On 11 October we scanned the descriptions (page text and excerpt, not the FAQs) of the 818 perfumes in stock for a numeric longevity rating. About 75 print a longevity of 5 out of 5, about 340 print a 4 and about 40 print a 3; roughly 100 mention longevity in words only and about 270 do not mention it at all. Most of the 5-rated perfumes are tagged autumn and winter on their pages: only five carry a summer tag, and four of those five are in this list (the fifth, Maison Crivelli Hibiscus Mahajad, costs ৳1,730 for 2 ml and ৳3,760 for 5 ml, far above the others).

So the 12 below are not simply the first 12 by rating. Every one is rated 5 on its page and has all decant sizes available today, and together they cover light day-wear, citrus-and-wood all-rounders and heavier evening scents, with 5 ml prices between ৳283 and ৳875. These four are the ones whose product pages put them in spring and summer, and all four are described for casual days or the office, so they suit daily use. A 5 is notable here, because fresher citrus, aquatic and green scents are the ones most people expect to fade first.

• Cullinan Diamond Iris decant (2 ml ৳150, 5 ml ৳301). Pineapple and grapefruit open it, bergamot, jasmine and patchouli sit in the heart, and iris, cedar, oakmoss and pine close it. The page rates longevity a strong 5 out of 5 with sillage at 4 and says to expect it to last through a full day, which makes it a candidate for all-day wear. A 2023 unisex parfum.
• Kaaf decant (2 ml ৳163, 5 ml ৳354). Lavender, watermelon and orange over a white-floral heart, with musk, sandalwood and ambroxan underneath. Its page lists casual days, the gym, outdoors and the office, with longevity 5 and sillage 4. This is the original 2022 Kaaf, not the later Kaaf Noir.
• Khadlaj Island decant (2 ml ৳150, 5 ml ৳319). Pineapple, iris and ginger into a coconut heart, then sandalwood and amber. It stays sweet and tropical rather than aquatic, which is worth knowing before you buy. Longevity 5, sillage 4.
• French Avenue Aether decant (2 ml ৳245, 5 ml ৳532). Apple, bergamot and mandarin, a soft violet and cedar heart, and an oakmoss and amberwood base. The page calls it refined rather than loud, suited to an office day or casual outing, with longevity 5 and sillage 4.

Citrus and wood all-rounders that carry into the evening

Each of these pairs a citrusy opening with a woody or mossy base. Their pages lean towards the cooler months, so they are likely to feel best in an air-conditioned office or after sunset.

• Terre D’Hermes Parfum decant (2 ml ৳403, 5 ml ৳875). Grapefruit and orange over a mineral, earthy base of oakmoss, benzoin and cedar. Longevity 5, sillage 4, for a winter wedding or a full office day. Its own FAQ adds that in strong heat the denser Parfum can feel heavy and many wearers keep the eau de toilette for summer.
• Nusuk Ateeq decant (2 ml ৳176, 5 ml ৳382). Honey and cinnamon with grapefruit and lime, then tobacco and lavender over cedar and vanilla orchid, with a warm gourmand finish. It is the only pick in the list tagged for autumn, spring and winter. Longevity 5, sillage 4.
• Mancera Cedrat Boise Intense decant (2 ml ৳391, 5 ml ৳851). Citrus and blackcurrant, then leather and oud, with sandalwood. The page puts longevity and sillage both “around a 5” and says it is meant for an evening wedding reception once the weather cools, not a daytime office run.
• Armaf Club de Nuit Intense Man decant (2 ml ৳196, 5 ml ৳425). The 2015 eau de parfum original: pineapple, blackcurrant and apple, a birch and jasmine heart, then ambergris, musk and vanilla below. Longevity and sillage are both “around a 5” on its page. Its FAQ adds that some wearers find the first few minutes sharp or synthetic, settling within about half an hour.

Sweeter and smokier picks for cool evenings

These four are rated 5 too, but their pages are candid that they belong to dinners, weddings and winter nights, the kind of evening events where a heavier scent works.

• Aromatix x Teas Me decant (2 ml ৳196, 5 ml ৳425). Ginger and lime open into a tea and cardamom heart, then an amber base with olibanum, tonka bean and vanilla. Longevity 5, sillage 4, for an evening out once the weather turns cooler.
• Lattafa Velvet Oud decant (2 ml ৳150, 5 ml ৳283). A 2018 leather scent: cardamom and bergamot, violet leaf and patchouli, then suede, amber and oakmoss. The cheapest 5 ml in the list, and the page places it on winter evenings, parties and date nights.
• Riffs Zenith decant (2 ml ৳179, 5 ml ৳390). Coconut and vanilla over fruity notes, jasmine and woody musk. Longevity 5 for a full day, but its page says the powdery vanilla suits an air-conditioned Dhaka office in the cooler months rather than a humid afternoon.
• Rasasi Shuhrah Boisee decant (2 ml ৳168, 5 ml ৳366). A woody fragrance for him that the page recommends for formal evenings, dates and weddings, with longevity 5 and sillage 4. There is no accord data for it yet, so its accord cell shows a dash.

Daily wear or a bold scent: which of the 12 fits which day?

For daily wear, the warm-weather four are the easiest fit. Aether, Kaaf and Cullinan Diamond Iris are all described for the office or casual days, so their staying power comes without a heavy scent profile, and Island is the sweet, tropical one of that group. For a bold scent, Club de Nuit Intense Man is described as loud in a good way and built for a party night, Cedrat Boise Intense for an evening wedding and Velvet Oud for winter evenings. How Bangladesh’s heat and humidity change what you smell

These are general fragrance principles, not measurements of any perfume above. In a humid climate like Bangladesh’s, heat speeds up evaporation, so the bright citrus and fruit in a top note tend to fade faster on hot skin, and the heavier material underneath is what you smell for the rest of the day. Are long-lasting perfumes the same as strong ones?

Are an attar or perfume oil long-lasting?

An attar, like other oil-based perfumes, often sits closer to the skin and can last a long time on it, but how long depends on the formula and your skin.
