Yes, famously. Wearers group the standard EDP roughly into pre-2016 batches, read as smokier and richer in birch, and 2020-onward batches, read as brighter, fruitier and more linear. Same name and pyramid, but a bottle you try today may differ from one you remember, and some buyers actively seek specific batch numbers.
No. Ours is the original 2010 Aventus Eau de Parfum, the pineapple-and-smoky-birch one. Aventus Cologne (2018) is a lighter, greener mandarin-and-ginger scent, and Absolu Aventus is a richer, sweeter reworking, so despite the shared name they smell quite different.
Aventus is the original that a whole category of pineapple-and-birch scents chases, from Armaf Club de Nuit Intense to Montblanc Explorer, so the clones point back to it rather than the reverse. Whether the premium is worth it is personal, but this is the reference. For another Creed pillar, Green Irish Tweed is worth comparing.
Aventus opens on bergamot, blackcurrant and apple with a whisper of pink pepper, moves into pineapple and jasmine, and settles on a woody, smoky base of birch, cedar and ambroxan with a light leather edge.
Expect this eau de parfum (EDP) to project well and outlast a full office day into evening, well suited to cooler spring and winter air. AUROME sells it as a 3–9 ml decant from the original Creed bottle, worth a week’s wear before committing to more.
