Two very different ideas of a Creed masculine. Viking is loud and spicy: bergamot and lemon into peppercorn, Bulgarian rose and peppermint over sandalwood, vetiver and patchouli, built to be noticed. Green Irish Tweed is the opposite instinct, a short formula of iris and vervain over violet leaf with ambergris and sandalwood underneath, and its whole character is restraint. Viking announces itself; Green Irish Tweed is the one people describe as smelling expensive without being able to say why.

Well, and the short note list is why. There is no sweetness, resin or gourmand element anywhere in this to gain weight on warm skin. Vervain's lemony brightness goes early in high heat, faster than in a cool spring, and violet leaf keeps its green, slightly metallic edge in humidity rather than turning soapy. What you wear for most of a hot day is ambergris and sandalwood, which stay soft and close, and it reads quieter here than in cool air, not heavier.
