Is this the same as the original 1957 L'Interdit?

Only the name. Givenchy reused the L'Interdit name in 2018 for a completely new scent; the 1957 original was a powdery aldehydic floral, while this Dominique Ropion composition is a sweet tuberose-and-vanilla fruity-floral over a chocolate-patchouli base. If you remember the vintage, this will smell nothing like it.

How does the EDP differ from the EDT version?

They share the pear-tuberose-patchouli skeleton, but the EDP is the richer, warmer one, with more vanilla and patchouli weight in the base. The EDT is lighter and fresher. This listing is the EDP, the deeper of the two.

Pear and bergamot bring a soft citrus lift to this eau de parfum (EDP) before tuberose and jasmine sambac take over as a lush white floral heart, warmed by orange blossom. Patchouli, vanilla and vetiver settle the dry-down into something woody and faintly earthy rather than sweet.

It is well suited to a date night in Gulshan or a winter evening gathering, when a confident floral feels appropriate. Expect it to be long-lasting and to project well, so a couple of sprays should carry through the night. Made for her, it leans elegant rather than playful. AUROME sells it as a 2–15 ml decant filled from the original Givenchy bottle, enough to get to know it before buying full size.
