How is Marine different from the standard Kenzo Homme EDT?

It keeps the sea and drops the forest. Kenzo Homme Eau de Toilette pairs its sea notes with crushed pine and earthy patchouli over sandalwood and cedar, which is what gives it that forest-edge character. Marine strips the formula to sea notes, ylang-ylang, sandalwood and musk, so there is no green woodiness at all. The standard EDT is the outdoorsy one; Marine is the clean, floral-tinged aquatic.

Does it actually work in Dhaka humidity?

It is one of the few aquatics that does. Sea accords are salty and mineral rather than sweet, so warm skin does not thicken them, and the ylang-ylang in the heart gets fuller in humidity rather than fading, which gives the middle more presence here than in cool air. Sandalwood and musk underneath stay soft throughout. With only four notes there is nothing in the formula for heat to spoil.
