Angels' Share Paradis is a separate, later release rather than a new batch of the original, so the two are not interchangeable. It works the same cognac and oak territory in its own composition, and Kilian has since added an on the Rocks version to the family as well. This listing is the 2020 original, the one built on cognac, cinnamon, praline and candied almond. If you tried something called Angels' Share elsewhere, it is worth confirming which of the three it was.

The cognac is the first thing heat takes. It is a volatile, spirit-like accord, and warm air pushes it off early, so on a humid Dhaka evening you land in the praline and candied almond stage sooner than you would in cold weather. That makes the fragrance read sweeter and more confectionery from the start, which is a different experience from the dry, barrel-aged opening it is known for. Sandalwood keeps the base from going flat, but this composition shows its full structure in cool air.
