Sweeter and more literal. Yara is built on orchid, heliotrope and tangerine over a soft gourmand accord with vanilla, musk and sandalwood, so its sweetness is creamy and slightly abstract. Yara Elixir replaces that with a strawberry s'mores accord and black currant up top over a caramel-and-vanilla base, which makes it read as an actual dessert rather than a suggestion of one. The florals are still there but they sit further back, so take the Elixir if the original was never sweet enough for you.

Not at midday, and the caramel is the reason. Caramel and vanilla both spread and thicken on hot skin, and the toasted-marshmallow side of the strawberry accord goes the same way, so what reads cozy in cool air turns cloying in humidity. Black currant is the only tart note holding it back and it goes early. Evenings, air conditioning and a single spray is how to get the best out of it here.
