Same genre, more going on. Tobacco Vanille is deliberately simple: tobacco leaf and spice over vanilla, cacao and tonka with dried fruit underneath, and its power comes from how few things it does. Tobacco 01 crowds the frame, adding plum, licorice and a cumin thread up top and labdanum, amber and ylang through the heart before the tobacco and honey arrive. The Tom Ford is the cleaner statement; this is the busier and fruitier reading of it.

It is the note to test before committing. Cumin responds to warm skin more than anything else in the formula, and in humidity its earthy, faintly sweaty side comes forward sooner and stays longer than it does in cool air. The plum and licorice that mask it in the opening burn off first, which removes the cover. If cumin already sits at the edge of what you enjoy, wear this in the cooler months rather than testing it at midday.
