Which Valentino Uomo is this?

This is the original 2014 Uomo, the gourmand-leather one Olivier Polge built on a roasted-coffee and gianduja-cream heart. It is distinct from the later Valentino Uomo 2021, which is a different iris-woody scent, so the name alone does not identify the version.

What is the gianduja note?

Gianduja is a chocolate-hazelnut cream, and here it pairs with roasted coffee in the heart to give Uomo its signature sweet, creamy-gourmand character. Over a cedar-and-white-leather base, it is what makes the scent read as an edible, cosy masculine rather than a fresh one. Compare with the darker Uomo Intense .

Bergamot and myrtle open Uomo EDT with a fresh, aromatic start, before hazelnut, chocolate and coffee build a warm spicy, nutty heart that feels almost edible. Leather and cedar close the dry-down into a woody finish grounded rather than sweet.

It suits a Dhaka office day through the cooler months, easily carrying into an evening date without a change of scent. Expect it to be long-lasting and to project well, so it should hold up through a full working day. Made for him, it favours anyone who enjoys gourmand touches in a masculine fragrance. AUROME sells it as a 2–15 ml decant filled from the original Valentino bottle, enough to test properly before a full bottle.
