How do cherry and oud work together in Cherry Oud?

It is the whole idea of the scent. Delphine Jelk sets a bright, jammy red cherry against a dark leather-and-agarwood base, so the fruit and the oud play off each other rather than blending into one. It is part of Guerlain's Shades of Oud series within L'Art and La Matière.

Is there real rose in Cherry Oud?

Yes, and it uses two. The heart pairs Turkish rose absolute with Bulgarian rose, two distinct rose materials, which gives the middle more depth than a single rose note and bridges the cherry top into the oud base.

Cherry Oud opens with bright cherry over dark oud, an unusual pairing that settles into a luminous rose heart. Leather lingers in the dry-down, keeping the sweetness in check with something darker underneath.

It suits a moody evening out on a cool night rather than a daytime errand. With longevity around a 5 and sillage around a 4, expect it to be long-lasting and to project well for hours.

Cherry Oud is unisex, dark and contemplative on him or her. AUROME sells it as a 2–15 ml decant filled from the original Guerlain bottle, an easy way to test it before buying a full bottle.
