They are opposite treatments of the same bean. Intense Cafe wraps its coffee in rose and finishes on vanilla, amber and musk, so it lands sweet and gourmand. Devotion Pour Homme is a three-note formula with nothing to soften it: lemon, coffee, patchouli. The result is dry and slightly rough rather than edible, closer to the smell of a grinder than a dessert, and take the Montale if you want coffee as comfort and this if you want it black.

It does, and the short note list is why. Roasted coffee stays dry and bitter on warm skin rather than sweetening, and patchouli underneath behaves the same way, so there is nothing in this formula for humidity to thicken. The lemon that opens it is gone within minutes here, faster than in cool air, which removes the brief aquatic-adjacent flash it has in winter. What you wear all day is the coffee and the patchouli, essentially unchanged.
