Both are resin fragrances and they use different resins. Incense 01 is frankincense-led and gourmand underneath, with rum and juniper up top and hazelnut, almond and dark chocolate giving it an edible middle. Queen of The Night is drier and more ceremonial: saffron and cinnamon bark into a kyphi accord, then myrrh, sandalwood and tonka absolute. Incense 01 smells like a warm kitchen with incense in it; this smells like the temple.

It holds, because resins do not sweeten the way sugars do. Myrrh, the kyphi blend and sandalwood all keep their dry, slightly bitter character on warm skin, so this does not collapse in humidity the way a honeyed oriental would. Saffron sharpens and turns more metallic in the first half hour, which is the main change. The cinnamon bark also reads hotter here, so the opening is more assertive than it is in cool air.
