They are the two halves of the same series and they sit at different temperatures. Tobacco 01 is the sweet one: plum and licorice into labdanum and amber, with tobacco, honey and vanilla carrying the base. Incense 01 is drier at the top and stranger in the middle, opening on frankincense, rum and juniper before fig, hazelnut and roasted nuts arrive, then closing on more frankincense with dark chocolate and moss. Tobacco 01 is the comfort scent; Incense 01 is the interesting one.

More easily than a sweet oriental, because frankincense is a dry resin rather than a sugar. It holds its slightly bitter, papery character on warm skin instead of thickening, and the cedarwood and moss underneath work the same way. What does change is the middle: hazelnut, almond and dark chocolate all read richer in humidity, so the gourmand phase is fuller here than in cool air. The rum up top goes quickly; Evening rather than midday, but not a struggle.
