This is the green, airy half of the pair. Dreams is built on pear and bitter orange into gardenia and cactus flower, with Joshua tree and ambroxan underneath giving it a dry, almost desert-like floor. Dreams Moonlight keeps only the bergamot, swaps the whole heart for jasmine and rose, and finishes on tonka and patchouli. Take Dreams for daylight and Moonlight for the evening; they are not versions of each other so much as two moods.

It does, and it is why this works here. The cactus flower and Joshua tree accords are dry and green rather than sweet, so warm skin does not thicken them the way it does a floral gourmand, and ambroxan underneath adds warmth without weight. Pear and bitter orange thin out fast, as all light fruit does in this climate. Gardenia gets fuller in humidity, which is the one thing that changes the balance.
