The Collector Edition is the same juice in an anniversary bottle, while Essential Sport is a genuinely different, lighter marine-citrus composition. Ours is the original 2005 Essential, the green tomato-leaf-and-rose one, so confirm the exact name.

Does the tomato-leaf note read fresh or soapy?

Lacoste’s Essential is a straightforward, everyday eau de toilette (EDT) for him, aromatic and citrus from the first spray of bergamot and mandarin.

Black pepper and rose add a fresh spicy, green touch at the heart, before sandalwood and patchouli settle into a woody, fruity base. No longevity or sillage figures are listed, so expect it to stay fairly close to the skin, well suited to a hot summer commute or a casual office day.
