They are the house's two clean fragrances and they sit closer together than most people expect. Both run bergamot into mock orange and sweet pea over white musk. 724 adds aldehydes up top and sandalwood underneath, which gives it a fizzy, slightly metallic sparkle and more body at the base. This one has neither, so it stays simpler and more soap-like, the pressed-cotton idea with nothing added on either end.

Not in the way the word suggests. Forte signals a fuller build rather than a bigger dose: this is an eau de parfum where the original reads cologne-style, and the mock orange and sweet pea in the heart give it more floral body than the plain citrus-and-musk version. What it is not is the same fragrance turned up. Anyone buying it expecting that will find the difference sits in texture instead.
