Mugler's own catalogue still lists A*Men Eau de Toilette under the name it launched with in 1996, so this is a current production fragrance rather than the discontinued relic people often assume it has become. That matters because A*Men is old enough, and influential enough, that a lot of buyers approach it as a hunt. It is not one.

The Sunessence releases take the same skeleton somewhere much lighter. Sunessence Orage d'Ete keeps green coffee and patchouli but adds citrus and marine notes and drops most of the gourmand mass, so it reads fresh and airy. The original piles caramel, honey, milk, coffee, vanilla and benzoin into the same frame. If the standard A*Men is too dense for you, the summer editions are the house admitting that.
