Does Cedar Malaki contain real oud?

No, and that is part of its character. Alberto Morillas builds the base on cypriol oil, also called nagarmotha, a woody root material with a smoky, oud-adjacent smell, alongside patchouli, labdanum and tonka. It gives the dry, resinous depth of an oud scent without using actual agarwood, over a grapefruit, cardamom and cedar structure.

How does Cedar Malaki fit into the Malaki line?

It is the cedar-focused entry in Chopard's Malaki collection, which began with the oud-based Oud Malaki and also includes Rose Malaki and Leather Malaki. Each has a different perfumer and a different central note, but they share the same warm, Middle-East-inspired woody DNA.

Cedar Malaki opens with cypress and cardamom, sharpened by grapefruit, before smoky cedar takes over the heart. Tonka and labdanum close the dry-down in a warm, earthy, woody finish that lingers well.

It works for a year-round office day in Dhaka or an evening date when the weather cools slightly. With longevity and sillage both around a 4, expect it to be long-lasting and to project well through the day.

Cedar Malaki is unisex, equally sharp and warm on him or her. AUROME offers it as a 2–15 ml decant drawn from the original Chopard bottle, an easy way to test it before buying a full bottle.
