How is Sauvage Parfum different from the EDT and EDP?

The Sauvage line has several versions: the 2015 EDT, the 2018 EDP, this 2019 Parfum and the later Elixir. The Parfum is the warmest and creamiest, built around a rich sandalwood with a vanilla-and-tonka sweetness, so it is less fresh and peppery than the EDT and softer than the EDP.

Why does the Parfum list so few notes?

Francois Demachy kept it deliberately minimal, centered on bergamot up top and sandalwood in the heart with a tonka-and-incense base. Higher-concentration releases often use a tighter note list to keep the composition rich and readable rather than busy, and that is the case here.

Bergamot and mandarin open this Dior parfum, given resinous depth by elemi, before creamy sandalwood leads into an amber-tinted base of frankincense, tonka and vanilla.

Composed by François Demachy, it is made for him, suited to a dinner date or an evening out once winter or the cooler autumn months arrive in Dhaka. Expect long-lasting wear with generous projection, so a light hand goes a long way. AUROME sells it as a 2–15 ml decant filled from the original Dior bottle, so you can wear it for a week before deciding on a full bottle.
