It is a dry, earthy aromatic. Santolina and St. John's Wort open it green and herbal, a heart of cypress and a resin accord adds depth, and a base of neo-labdanum, opoponax, vegetable amber and a humus (soil) accord gives it an earthy, resinous character. So it reads like green herbs over damp earth rather than a sweet or fresh scent. Perfumers Daphne Bugey and Annick Menardo composed this 2014 release, which now appears to be discontinued.

No, and the name misleads. Despite the rugged branding it is subtle and contemplative: sharp green herbs up top, cool dry cypress and resin in the middle, then a quiet, earthy resin-and-soil base that sits close to the skin. It reads as considered rather than loud, closer to a niche forest-floor scent than a bold designer masculine. Buyers expecting something untamed are often surprised by how restrained it is.

It smells specifically of damp earth, turned soil and forest floor after rain, which is unusual in a mainstream masculine. It gives Wild its signature and is the note that divides opinion, arresting to some and too strange for others. It is folded into neo-labdanum and opoponax so it reads as a resinous earthiness rather than raw dirt, but it is the defining reason to try this one.
