Both are cold roses and they chill it by different means. Rose Atlantic uses salt, sea water and grass, so its rose reads coastal and slightly mineral, with oakmoss giving it an earthy floor. Roses On Ice gets its cold from cucumber, juniper and lime, a gin-and-tonic effect rather than a seaside one, and finishes on clean musk, sandalwood and ambroxan with nothing mossy underneath. Rose Atlantic is the salty one; this is the frozen one.

It does, and it is the reason this works here at all. Cucumber and juniper are cool, watery-green notes that read even colder against hot skin, which is the opposite of what most florals do in this weather. Lime and violet leaf go fast, so the sharpest part of the opening is brief. What remains is rose over ambroxan and musk, and ambroxan is the one note that warms up noticeably, giving the later hours a slightly saline edge the opening does not have.
