Is the Luna Rossa Ocean EDT the same as the newer Eau de Parfum?

No, they are different formulas under one name. Fragrantica has compared them directly: this 2021 Eau de Toilette is the aromatic, lavender-and-sage windswept one, while the later Eau de Parfum swaps that for grapefruit, frankincense and vanilla. If you tried one and want the other, expect a real change of character rather than a stronger version, and note it is also distinct from the sharper Luna Rossa Carbon .

What is the suede note doing in a fresh scent?

It softens it. Anne Flipo and Carlos Benaim tuck suede and a little saffron into the heart, so the marine-aromatic freshness gains a smooth, skin-like warmth underneath instead of staying purely cool. That second-skin quality is what sets it apart from the more citrus-sporty Luna Rossa entries.

Bergamot and pink pepper open Luna Rossa Ocean with a fresh spicy brightness, sharpened by herbal artemisia before lavender, iris and sage build an aromatic heart with a touch of suede and saffron. Musk, caramel and vetiver close the dry-down into a warm, slightly sweet finish.

It suits an outdoor gym session or a casual day in Dhaka’s cooler months, versatile enough to carry into an evening plan. Expect it to be long-lasting and to project well, so a couple of sprays should be plenty. Made for him, it is a more textured take on the aromatic fougère. AUROME sells it as a 2–15 ml decant filled from the original Prada bottle, worth wearing several times before deciding on more.
