One is severe and one is generous. Black Aoud is mandarin into rose over labdanum, oud, patchouli and sandalwood, with nothing to soften the entry. Oudmazing keeps the agarwood up front but flanks it with fig, pear and Sicilian citrus, then runs orris and jasmine through the heart before landing on grapes, vanilla, leather and musk. Black Aoud is the purist's version; Oudmazing is oud with the fruit left in.

Partly, and pear outlasts the citrus. Sicilian orange and bergamot thin within minutes on hot skin, but fig and pear are fuller, waxier notes that hold long enough to keep doing their job of cushioning the oud. The grape accord in the base reads jammier as the day warms. Agarwood, leather and patchouli stay dry throughout, so the fragrance shifts toward the sweet end in humidity rather than collapsing.
