How is Neroli Portofino different from the Acqua version?

The original 2011 Neroli Portofino is the fuller one: a big citrus top of bergamot, mandarin, lemon and bitter orange with lavender, rosemary and myrtle over an orange-flower-and-neroli heart. The lighter Neroli Portofino Acqua (2016) drops the herbs and jasmine for an airier take, and Forte and Parfum go richer, so confirm which you want.

Is it just a simple citrus cologne?

It looks simple but is not. The herbal trio and a waxy, green pitosporum note give the heart a genuinely Mediterranean, sunlit-skin character rather than a generic fresh accord, and an ambrette-and-angelica base adds a quiet earthy depth. If you like it, Costa Azzurra is Tom Ford's woodier take on the same coastline.

Amber and ambrette close with a light, fresh spicy base. It is a natural pick for a hot summer commute in Dhaka or a casual day out.

Longevity and sillage are both rated 4 out of 5, so expect this to be long-lasting through the day and to project well without becoming heavy. Being unisex, it works for anyone who wants Mediterranean citrus rather than heavy orientals.
