They are the two dark entries in the line and they are dark in different ways. Luna Rossa Carbon is metallic and mineral: bergamot and pepper into lavender, coal, soil tincture and watery notes over ambroxan and patchouli. Black is soft rather than sharp, using angelica against the bergamot and finishing on coumarin, amber and musk, which gives it a blurred, almost powdery warmth. Carbon is the cold one; Black is the enveloping one.

It gets softer rather than heavier, which is unusual for a coumarin base. Bergamot goes within minutes and angelica's green, bitter edge is what carries the early wear on warm skin, holding its shape in humidity better than a citrus would. Coumarin and amber underneath do warm up, but they read as a soft haze rather than a dense sweetness because there is no vanilla or resin stacked behind them. Comfortable in an air-conditioned day, best after dark outdoors.
